General information

Name: Dipropylene glycol (DPG) CAS-number: 25265-71-8 Chemical formula: \(\ mathrm{C_6H _{14}O_3}\) Appearance: Colorless transparent viscous hygroscopic liquid, virtually odorless. Applications

1. Perfume and cosmetic industry: Solvent-carrier of fragrances in perfumes, creams, shower gels, moisturizer, low toxicity and mild skin irritant.

2. Painting and printing industry: High-boiling solvent for printing ink, varnishes, resins; Improves coating spread, slows drying, prevents film whitening.

3. Chemical raw materials: Intermediate for the synthesis of polyester and alkyd resins, plasticizers, surface active substances, polyols for polyurethanes.

4. Household chemicals: Component of detergents and degreasing formulations.

5. Textile industry: Moisturizing and emollient aid in tissue processing.

Storage conditions

Store in a dry, cool, well-ventilated warehouse in a tightly closed container. Protect from moisture, contact with strong oxidizing agents. The storage temperature is not higher than 40   °C.

Safety equipment

A low-volatility flammable liquid. Low acute toxicity, weakly irritates mucous membranes. Avoid getting into the eyes and skin. Work in a well-ventilated workspace.
